Enterprise Fire Department ranks among top 6.5% of departments across the United States

The Enterprise Fire Department maintained its Insurance Services Office (ISO) Class 2 rating following a recent evaluation, ranking the department in the top 6.5% of all fire departments across the country.

“This ranking reaffirms the quality and caliber of service provided by the Enterprise Fire Department,” Mayor William E. Cooper said. “I am proud of Chief Davis and his department for the job they do to protect the citizens of Enterprise and to ensure the personnel, equipment, water supply, communication systems, training, and community risk reduction efforts are in place and meet the needs of our area.

“I am incredibly proud to learn the City of Enterprise will maintain the ISO Class 2 rating to provide the quality level of service the citizens have come to know and expect from our department,” Fire Chief Christopher Davis said. “I am thankful for the hard work of not only the Enterprise Fire Department, but also the Enterprise Police Department dispatchers and Enterprise Water Works team for their contributions.”

The ISO representative collects and evaluates information from communities in the United States on structure fire suppression capabilities, which can impact insurance costs. Of the 38,185 participants, EFD was among the top 6.5%, earning a Class 2 ranking.  Less than 500 communities received a Class 1 ranking, which is the top ranking available. EFD was last ranked in 2017.

“The lower the ISO score, the lower your risk of serious damage when there’s a fire,” Davis said. “Enterprise residents should feel confident in the city’s fire department, water system and emergency communications and know there will be a quick response with the necessary equipment if and when that call comes.”
